You start at the car park Mühlbach and walk in the northern direction. Follow the sign „Geierstein“ and you will pass a fish pond and come to the pond Hohenburg. Ther you cross the litte bridge and walk halfway around the pond. After that you take the trail on the right side to Geierstein. From here it goes in winding roads uphill to a rocky outcrop with a viewing bench (Markeck, 1057 meters). Passing another viewing rock it goes steeply uphill to the summit cross of the Geierstein (1483 meters).
Decent: You can go back down the same path, or you can follow path number 12 eastward back to the swimmingpool „Isarwelle“. To come back to the startpoint you take the Goethestraße at the left side, the Oberreiterweg and the Ludwig-Thoma-Weg, till you go left to the pond of Hohenburg (have a look at the signs). Now you go halfway around the pond and come back to the car park.
