Parkingplace Brauneck cable car
The tour starts with a ride on the mountain railway up to the Brauneck. From the top station, follow Trail 451 to the Brauneck summit cross, hike along the ridges of the Schrödelstein and continue toward the Benediktenwand. From the Brauneck summit cross, hike along the ridges of the Schrödelstein and Stangeneck to the Latschenkopf. You can already enjoy a fantastic view from here.
Shortly past the summit of the Latschenkopf, the trail splits toward the Benediktenwand. Hikers who are sure-footed and have a head for heights can hike over the Achselköpfe. Otherwise, follow the sign for "Benewand-Tutzer Hütte- Längental-Arzbach" to the right and downhill. This trail, marked with red dots, passes below the Achselköpfe. Stay on the trail and always follow the signs toward "Benewand". Shortly before the Rotohrsattel, the two trail options converge again.
From the Rotohrsattel, continue toward the summit via the Benediktenwand circular trail`s eastern ascent. This trail is secured with wire ropes in places and requires full concentration.
If this ascent seems too dangerous, you have the option of hiking to the summit via the Tutinger Hütte. From the summit of the Benediktenwand, take trail 471/480 down the soth face of the mountain toward Lenggries. Continuing to follow the red dot, the trail descends to the Bichler alm, form where you can keep left toward Brauneck. Next, you`ll pass the Scharnitzalmen. From there, the trail continues downhill to the "Hintere Krotten-Alm".
At the back of the hut, keep to the left again and follow the red trail markers to the Quenger-Alm, which is open to the public.
From here, follow the signs back toward the Brauneck mountain station.
