On the nature-trail-Isar, we explore the wild river Isar along its upper reaches. We will hike from the bridge over the Isar in Lenggries 1.5 kilometers on the path „Isarweg“. We walk at the left side upriver and we want to take a few detours to the Isar floodplains that are called „Isarauen“.
At the path you can find boards with numbers and QR-codes of the different stations. Our path nature-trail-Isar ends at the carpark at the south oft he steam „Hirschbach“. If you want you can explore the Isar on your own now. The trail is to long for you? That`s no problem. You also can only visit some stations and not the complete trail.
If you take time and some stuff in you`re backpack you can easily spend a few hours here playing and exploring.
We recommend:
Snack
Camera
For children: trousers and shoes for change
If you have: magnifying glass, binoculars, old jam jar
Drawing materials
Depending on the weather: rain cover, swimwear, sun protection
The river Isar is a river, and so it`s built by nature and can change within only some hours. So it is possible that you see something different as the explanation on our homepage says.
At high tide, there are a few stations (4, 5, 6, 8) that can`t be visited! Instead of that the high tide Isar offers interesting phenomena to observe.
