The trail continues across meadows to the Steinbach valley. Now walk parallel to the steam, heading upsteam, to Draxl and Roischen hut (served in winter months). Here you turn left, following the signs to Bad Tölz untill you reacht at the car park Sunntratn. The car park is located between the districts Untermberg and Grundern. From now on you follow the signs „Sonntratenrundweg“. At the beginning you are walking on a forest street slightly uphill. At the first junction you turn right. Then, keep slightly to the left. After you followed the forest street for a while it turns into a trail. Follow this trail till you reach the highest poin of the hill (1096 meters). Here you'll find a bench with a fantastic view over the vally Isarwinkel and toward the Benediktenwand. That`s also the point where you can walk on to the Rechelkopf.

Descent: For the descent you follow the path „Sonntratensteig“. This trail leads steeply in places, sometimes over roots and rocks, back to the forest road. The forest road goes back to the car park of the Sonntraten, from where you take the same way back like you walked before.
