Experience the mountains ... together

The applicable regulations in Bavaria are set out here!

1. Ride only on designated trails!

Never ride off-road, as this harms nature! Respect local trail closures! Forestry operations, livestock driving, and nature conservation concerns justify these restrictions. Even in recreational areas, local closures may be warranted. The way you ride influences the actions of authorities and administrators. On private land, your presence is often only tolerated!

2. Leave no trace!

Do not brake with locked wheels! (Exception: emergency situations) Skidding promotes soil erosion and damages trails. Adjust your riding style to the surface and trail conditions. Not every trail can withstand every type of braking or riding style.

3. Keep your mountainbike under control!

Losing focus, even for just a few seconds, can cause an accident. Adjust your speed to the situation. In blind or obscured sections, pedestrians, obstacles, or other bikers may appear at any time. You must always be able to stop within your line of sight-for your own safety and that of others.

4. respect other people in nature!

Announce your approach early. Don’t frighten other trail users! Slow down to walking pace when passing or stop if necessary. Keep in mind that other trail users may notice you too late. If possible, ride only in small groups!

5. Be considerate of animals!

Grazing animals and all other wildlife in forests and fields require special consideration! Always close pasture gates after passing through. Leave the forest before dusk to avoid disturbing animals during their feeding time.

6. Plan ahead!

Start your ride as close to home as possible. Check your equipment, honestly assess your abilities, and choose your riding area accordingly. Bad weather or a mechanical problem can significantly extend your tour. Be prepared for unforeseen situations: bring tools, provisions, and a first-aid kit. Wear safety clothing! A helmet can protect you, but it’s not a guarantee of safety.
