Guidelines for behavior in nature

Show consideration and be quiet

We are guests in nature. Animals and plants are at home there. Be calm and quiet and keep your distance from animals so as not to disturb them.

Stay on the paths

This applies everywhere. For your own safety, stay on the trails and do not enter the meadows and woods.

Respect access and rest areas

Respect the rules that are in place, especially in nature and countryside reserves. (No parking at night in the nature reserve, no trespassing in the floodplains of the river “Isar”).

Dogs must be kept on a lead

Dogs have a natural hunting instinct and can scent and frighten animals. Dogs should therefore always be kept on a lead. Please do not leave dog faeces on meadows and pastures. The fields are food for the cows and dog faeces has no place there.

No wild camping or barbecuing

Camping is only allowed on designated campsites, not in the wilderness. Barbecues and fires may be lit at the barbecue area near the lifeguard station at the lake “Sylvensteinsee”. Lighting fires in the wilderness is strictly forbidden and can cause considerable damage.

Always take your rubbish with you

Take your rubbish with you and do not leave it in nature. It is harmful to plants and animals. Please take cigarette ends and dog faeces with you and dispose of them in the nearest bin or at home.

Do not touch plants or animals

Please do not stroke, chase, feed or photograph animals. This includes cows and calves on the mountain pastures. Please do not pick flowers or plants.

Park only in designated areas

Park only in designated areas. In the nature reserves, parking is only allowed in the designated car parks between 6am and 10pm.
